Back on Windows

So after my brief stay on Linux Mint (which was fantastic bar the lack of games) I've come back to Windows. I was looking into buying a 120GB SSD and 2TB HDD but err, I really shouldn't be spending that kind of money right now. So instead I just did a shit ton if copy & pasting to make room for an installation partition on my 500GB drive and dumped my Steam folder onto a portable HDD.

In the mean time I've been playing Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest IX. Fire Emblem's still great yet incredibly frustrating when you fuck up and get someone killed. I'll probably have that finished by the end of the week though.

Dragon Quest is something I've been playing on the bus, it's been pretty great though I have to admit, most of my bus journeys to and from work these past few days have been used for catching up on sleep, so not much play time there.

Everything Breaks

At the same fucking time. First my glasses snap, then my trainers give way and now my HDD has given up the ghost. Or at least it's about to, I've disconnected it so I can transfer everything over to a new drive when I eventually have some spare cash.

What a shitty month.

Dragon Warrior

Cart only but that's OK, it works great and didn't cost much. I'm not sure why but I really enjoy these 8 bit RPGs, I find it adorably archaic that you can't just walk down stairs.

Steam Perils of Summer Sale.

Oh god, another huge sale, and the games are so cheap. I've been trying to hold out but I've still bought 17 games and had one gifted to me. There's some ultra cheap ones I'm still holding out on as well, just in case their price gets slashed again before the final day. My best deal so far? The Gothic bundle for £1.79. This was actually a misprice but I got it before they corrected it.

On a side note, my parents went on holiday to America on Monday. I asked them to keep an eye out for a NES lol and made sure to tell them to call it an EN EE ES instead of a Nez. I'd have one already if shipping wasn't so horrendously high. I'm not sure what I'll do with my PAL NES on the off chance they actually come back with one, maybe I'll keep it for the PAL exclusives.

-Update-
It's finally over, here's what I ended up getting.

DarkStar One
Toki Tori
Puzzle Kingdoms
NecroVisioN
AquaNox
Avencast
Freedom Pack
Devil May Cry 4
Star Wars: Empire at War Gold
Beat Hazard iTunes DLC
Beat Hazard
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Red Faction Guerrilla
Shatter
FlatOut Ultimate Carnage
Oddworld Abes Oddysee and Exoddus package
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Gothic Bundle
Resident Evil 5
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon

This is with me holding back as well... On the plus side only one of these games cost more than £5 ^_^;

My NES is back!

Well not my NES, my parents threw that out without telling me 13 years ago. I bought this one off eBay, it should be here any day now. I'm so excited, I've already bought a bunch of games ready to play, mostly ones I had as a kid but also a few I didn't. I was going to try and go for an NTSC NES but the shipping on importing one is killer and finding games boxed, complete and in good condition is hard enough without having to worry if the other person will ship internationally and package them well.

Speaking of eBay, most of the stuff I listed sold for a decent price. I'm gona put the SNES and Mega Drive up soon, maybe my PS2 games as well as some other bits and bats. The Wii definitely stays but I'm still not sure about the 60GB PS3.

eBay

I added some stuff to it, got lots more yet. I started listing some DC games but when I got to PSO I couldn't go through with it and instead spent the next couple of hours playing DC games. I just have far too many fond memories with them, I can't sell them on. I think I'm going to play through them all again very very soon. I've kept a few DS, PS2 and GC games, only one handful total, they deserve to stay. I have a buyer for the 360 set up and I'm thinking of chucking the Wii. The PS3 might stay, I should probably sell that as well though.

Selling Up?

I've been thinking of doing this for a while now. I have a lot of games, far more than is shown in my Backloggery. Games I beat long ago such as Dreamcast games, PSX games, GC games, MD games, Snes games...etc. I also, for whatever reason just can't get into handheld gaming, my 360 never gets used, my PS3 is a Battlefield 1943 box and my Wii is a glorified emulation machine. PC is where I play most of my games and lord knows I have enough of those to keep me going for the next 5+ years. There are the occasional console games I want to play but they're so infrequent I'm not sure it's worth holding onto the systems.

Part of me wants to collect every machine under the sun but it just ends up being a lot of clutter. It'd be nice to just be free of it all and only have one or two. I wouldn't mind getting rid of my current PC as well, it's a fucking beast right now. Seriously, you could fit a small child in the Akasa Eclipse, an SFF system would be far more ideal.

I have too many RPGs

Far too many, why do I keep buying these games? When am I even going to get round to finishing them? Why do I keep eyeing Demon's Souls, Mass Effect 2 and FF XIII D:
